Course Date: 29th June - 5th July 2025 (7 days), SLOVAKIA
Course Venue: A picturesque hotel in the heart of the High Tatras with the possibility of wellness
Meals and snacks: provided at the hotel's premises

Course content:
- how to do it from cartoon animation to stop-motion to pixilation - the endless possibilities that animation offers are revealed.
- how to use Dragonframe, a mobile application for reinforcing the curriculum
- how to enliven teaching, create engaging materials, develop creativity.
- to introduce teachers to various animation techniques and create their own animated projects for them.
- basics of working with Stop-motion and its use in elementary school lessons
- basics of working with Krita and its use in elementary school lessons
- how to start with simple video processing
Course methods:
- participants will actively process the acquired knowledge into educational materials directly usable in their classes
- they will actively create their first educational videos
- they will create their own educational materials according to the approval with the intention of using them in classes
- participants will actively work in video editing environments, where they will master the basics of video creation in Krita, Dragonframe, mobile application with professional advice
Course confirmation:
- The participant will be granted a certificate of active participation together with a guaranteed number of hours
- Participants will receive a certificate of competences in the European Mobility Passport
- If necessary, will be translated into English
Course Programe:
Presentation and introduction to the course • Welcome and opening of the course • Practical information about the course • Getting to know the course participants • Individual approvals of the course participants and their education profile • Introductory questionnaire before the start of the education for the needs of the SWOT analysis
Monday:
Introduction to the video creation program • Aspects of good practice examples • Analysis of the implementation of such support material in lessons • Basics of working with video and its use in lessons at school • Discussion and individual interview • Demonstrations of various types of animation techniques and analysis of selected animated works • Introduction to working with a graphics tablet and the Krita program • Working with brushes, tools, colors, layers, animation layers, export
Tuesday:
Aspects of good practice examples and the use of video-educational material in school lessons and projects • Model situation of including such education in subject curricula and using inter-subject relationships also in project work • Fun side of creating a video or animation • Discussion and individual interview • Aspect of sharing created programs in an international community of teachers • Twelve principles of animation and examples - - cartoon animation in teaching materials (e.g. explainer videos) • Creation of a simple cartoon animation (bouncing ball/simple animated caption) in Krita program - sketch (rough animation), main phases, intermediate phases, coloring, compositing (working with filters), export
Wednesday:
Demonstration of good examples of practice and use • Practical steps for starting work with animations • Working on your own animation with use in lessons • Creating your own flat/puppet/relief stop-motion animation in teams, working with a stop-motion program and a camera (Dragonframe or some free one) - material selection, scene preparation, frame-by-frame animation, export • Analysis of the usability of animations in your own lessons • Self-educational possibilities of the program and its use in the professional growth of a teacher • Introduction to Stop-motion animation, flat vs. puppet animation, examples of works - Karel Zeman, Hermína Týrlová, Tim Burton, Laika studio, South Park, custom works from Oz animation, etc. - examples of the possibilities of Stop-motion animation in teaching • Discussion and individual interview • Modifiability of such applications in different lessons
Thursday:
Introduction to pixilation, examples, useful applications • Good tips for using this program in education • Creating your own animated educational activity • Outdoor education - animating in nature (indoors in case of bad weather), working with applications on mobile devices / possibility to animate in the evening after dark with lights. • Finalizing animations and final fine-tuning of outputs
Friday:
Presentation of a collection of other animation applications • Possibilities of using animation in teaching - specifics for individual subjects - types of animation, used equipment, programs and materials, discussion on the applicability of knowledge, overall summary of the workshop • Practical hands-on activities focused on individual animation needs
Saturday:
Najpoužívanejšie animácie na hodinách - vytvorenie vlastnej zbierky animácií • Reflexia požiadaviek animácií podľa typu hodiny a typu školy • Prezentácia vytvorených animácií a ich hodnotenie • Dobré rady od ostatných účastníkov kurzu • Záverečný produkt v podobe materiálu na hodiny • Vyhodnotenie kurzu, odovzdávanie certifikátov a rozlúčka • Voľná diskusia a priateľská výmena dojmov a postrehov
